The Biltmore Estate

On Saturday we went with the Young at Heart to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. When they call it an "estate" they really mean it. The house was bigger than I imagined, much bigger in fact. It has something close to 250 rooms; that's in only ONE house! While we were not allowed to take pictures in the house itself we were able to take pictures on the grounds surrounding the house.

This is as much of the front of the house as we could get in our camera lens.

This is the view from the third floor balcony. Breathtaking!

Once we completed out tour of the house, which took about an hour and a half, we found this cool statue and took a picture by it. For those wondering, the girl in purple is Emily's friend Rachel, not a fourth Ferguson girl!

Dad couldn't resist having his picture taken with the lion as well!

Here we are, again with Rachel, behind the house.

A family photo in front of the Great Smokey Mountains.

This little pathway was gorgeous, mom couldn't resist taking a picture.

A view of the house from the garden.

The garden pictures will get their own post! Insider's tip: Regardless of the time of year, bring a jacket when you go to the mountains. We may look comfortable in our shorts, but we were freezing all day!
